Bangor University is an integral part of City life, and has been since it was founded in 1884. These days over 11,000 students from over 90 countries come here to study, and our diverse student population really adds to the City’s vibrancy.
The University offers a wide range of courses including science, engineering, arts and humanities, health and education. It has an excellent reputation for its student experience, achieving the highest ratings for teaching excellence, research excellence and student satisfaction. A recent makeover has brought new accommodation, new Students’ Union offices and teaching spaces at Pontio, and the redevelopment of Canolfan Brailsford sport centre which offers sport and recreation facilities to students, staff and visitors. Bangor’s further education college, Coleg Menai, provides a range of courses across two sites in the City and delivers a number of higher education courses in collaboration with the University.
